Commis Chef Culinary Event at KWETB’s Marine House

KWETB’s Marine House has been a hub of activity over the past number of weeks! As part of the Commis Chef Apprenticeship, students designed, prepared, cooked and presented a 6 course meal to 50 invited guests including student mentors and culinary experts.

The students really rose to the challenge and presented professional and delicious servings. Students created their own signature dishes that reflected their tastes and influences with amazing results.

Each dish was paired with a suitable wine, providing a high-end restaurant style experience.

Each student explained at the start of each serving what inspired them to create the dish along with what fusion of ingredients and flavours the customers should expect.

The feedback from the guests was outstanding, not only was each course delicious, but the presentation and knowledge shown by the students is a testament to the dedication of the KWETB staff, and commitment of the students to the course.

Everyone at Marine House, will be sorry to see these students finish their course, but excited to see watch this class aspire to greatness in the kitchen!
