Kildare Wicklow Education and Training Board (KWETB) celebrated the apprentices from our National Hairdressing Apprenticeship Program with a glitzy capstone event held in Naas, Co. Kildare recently.
The showcasing of creativity and flair for hairdressing was outstanding, with inspiration for their creations drawn for the apprentices own experiences and interests.
The capstone event is a culmination of a 3-year apprenticeship program, showcasing the skills and creativity of KWETB’s final year hairdressing apprentices.
This creative challenge allowed the apprentices to create a signature look that combines colour design, restyling and innovative up-styles to brings their artistic vision to life. The challenge pushes the boundaries of hairdressing and combines honed hairdressing skills with art.
The National Hairdressing Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training with academic studies that leads to a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Hairdressing, recognised nationally and internationally.
This qualification establishes a flourishing career in hairdressing or pathways into related fields such as trichology, helping clients with conditions such as alopecia or eczema.
The event was attended by KWETB senior management, hairdressing tutors, industry mentors, friends and family who’s support and guidance has led to this climatic finale and exhibition of outstanding local talent.
